Community leaders move to avert crisis in Oshodi/Isolo

By - - [General ]

In a bid to avert crisis in some polling units around Okota and Oshodi Isolo area of Lagos State, community leaders comprising Igbo and other stakeholders have moved to nip the problem in the bud.

At a peace meeting attended by the Osolo of Osolo Kingdom, Oba Kolawole Agbabiaka, Vice President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Vitus Uzoh, Eze Igbo Lagos, Christian Nwachukwu, Oshodi/Isolo Local Council Development Area Chairman and Alhaji Samshudeen Olaleye, Oba Agbabiaka, who is the convener of the meeting, said knotty issues that led to confusion in some of the polling units in the last general election have been addressed.

While appealing to Igbo and other non-indigenes in the state to show understanding by voting for All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday, Olaleye said victory for APC would be a better deal for Igbo and other indigenes in Oshodi/Isolo and other parts of Lagos.

On why Igbo leaders attended the parley, Uzoh said only peaceful environment would guarantee economic prosperity. He said Igbo in the area had always been good host, hence, they contributed immensely to the development of the state.

While urging all peace-loving persons, regardless of their tribe and tongues, to go about their business without fear of intimidation, Agbabiaka said the law enforcement agents are on ground to deal with anybody who attempts to incite breakdown of law and order in Oshodi/Isolo.
