Masari visits victims of farmers-herders clash, urges security consciousness

Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina state has visited victims of the farmers-herders clash at Gora village in Safana local government where he stressed the need for all to be security conscious and expose informants among residence.

Speaking at the palace of the village head, Masari said residents must be ready to provide Security with useful information that will be used in confidence by exposing the miscreants in the community.


According to him, harbouring children and wards with criminal tendencies will only compound the situation saying that we must try and live out of our comfort zones to protect the community and ourselves’

He said, government is working round the clock to support security operatives adding that community policing has wide spread which the people must embrace as Security personnel cannot be at every nook and cranny of the local government ‘


In his remarks, the district head of Safana, Sada Rufia called for collaboration of inhabitant by providing useful information to security.

It can be recalled that 11 persons died following a clash between farmers and herders in Gora village of Safana Local Government area of Katsina state.

The incidence which happened Tuesday night started when a farmer working on his farm resisted a herder invasion and was killed in the process.

The residence of the town later mobilised, and killed the herder which led to the invasion of the town by bandits from the Rugu forest on the village when the news spread.
