FCT minister assures corps members of security and welfare

By - - [General ]

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Alh. Muhammad Bello has assured Corps members that his administration will do all it takes to provide security and welfare for them as they serve in the state.

Speaking on Monday in Abuja during the swearing in ceremony of the 2018 Batch C stream 2 corps members in the FCT, he said all the machineries have been put in place in both human and material resources to deal with any challenging situation.

Represented by the Director, Administration and finance, FCT, Social Development, Hajiya Safiya Umar he called on the corps members to take every aspect of the Skills Aquisition and Entrepreneurial Development (SAED) programme seriously while in camp as that will help them become self-reliant after their service year rather than become job seekers.

He urged them to be law abiding and patriotic during their service year, hence reminded them that they are supposed to preach peace and unity anywhere they find themselves as that was the major motive of the scheme.

On his part, FCT coordinator, Mr. Bullama Bello announced that a total of 2448 corps members were registered for the orientation course in the FCT.

He said so far, the corps members have exhibited responsibility and discipline since they resumed hence urged the corps members to take every activity on camp seriously as that will help shapen them for the rest of their service year and their future.
