By - - [ ]

It has been reported that the Organised labour union has called off the nationwide industrial action strike which was set to begin Today, November 6, which will further insist on demand for a new national minimum wage.

The suspension of the strike was made clear by the National Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba. The suspension of the Nigeria Labour Congress strike was also made clear in a meeting which took place on Monday evening.

There are definitely some reasons why NLC suspend the strike because the NLC strike was expected to commence today. Panic arose in the country yesterday afternoon before NLC suspend the strike. In ATM joints, there were cues all around as a lot of people were withdrawing their money because of the fear of the strike coming up today.

The National Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, clearly stated that the decision to suspend the NLC strike was taken after there was agreements reached and some documents signed. The National Chairman after giving his reasons why the NLC Strike was suspended, also failed to reveal the figure of the new minimum wage the committee jointly agreed on.

However, the Nation Chairman of the NLC also stated that the figure agreed upon will be revealed publicly after the committee’s report will be given to President Buhari by 4:15pm today. The NLC strike has been suspended and the NLC Chairman has further directed that all workers should go to their work places as of today.

The NLC strike was suspended by the NLC because from reports gathered, they had agreed to some terms which are clearly not known as of now and also there were some documents signed which we do not know presently on the type of documents signed and by who it was signed.
